[Mikiharu's Point of View]

Actual Proof (1974) is a jazz-funk record written by Herbie Hancock. It served as a follow-up to Hancock's album Head Hunters (1973). It's hard for the rhythm section to play, but the melody is very cool. The first reason I started playing this song is that I heard it on the album, "琴線/The Chord (2006)" by bassist Koichi Osamu. Yosuke Onuma played the guitar on that album. As an aside to that, "Actual Proof" is translated freely as "現証 (Gensho)," which is a Buddhist term.

"The Red One" / STRATOCASTER & TELECASTER @ Jazz Inn New COMBO (Friday, February 26, 2016) - (HD)

[Mikiharu's Point of View]

The Red One (1994) is from John Scofield and Pat Metheny's studio session album, I Can See Your House From Here (1994), written by Pat Metheny. When I listened to it I felt the melody was twisted, so I thought it had been written by John Scofield. Hiroyuki Kume, another guitarist, chose the song and brought the score beforehand for this concert. It feels very good to play the theme, moving to harmony from the unison part. How lucky I am as a guitarist. I liked this song very much when I played in this concert. I play it to warm up before concerts.

"Led Boots" / STRATOCASTER & TELECASTER @ Jazz Inn New COMBO (Friday, February 26, 2016) - (HD)

"Led Boots" / STRATOCASTER & TELECASTER @ Jazz Inn New COMBO (Friday, February 26, 2016) - (HD)

[Mikiharu's Point of View]

Led Boots (1976) is written by Jeff Beck, British guitarist. He is as "one of the most influential lead guitarists in rock" and often called a "guitarist's guitarist". This song is very heavy in Wired (1976), his the third solo album. I didn't often listen to Jeff Beck' songs in my younger days, actually. When I grew old and re-started to play the guitar, listened to his songs again, I felt those were very fresh. Lots of his songs are the odd meter, this song is no exception too. Not only Hot riffs but the tension chord on introduction, power chord are my favorite..
